Reading to Kids...

In case you are in the giving mood, I'm posting this for Matthew Jones aka Wes from General Hospital aka My Hero...
----
Yes, it's the time of year when all the charitable requests come out - hopefully mine is one of the first...

As most of you know, every year we set out to raise money for Reading to Kids during our annual fund drive. For those of you who are new to my annual plea, Reading to Kids is a grassroots organization dedicated to inspiring children with a love of reading. We're currently serving seven different elementary schools around the Los Angeles area. Most of these kids speak English as a second language and don't have age-appropriate book sat home. But every month, they come out to our reading clubs because they have a passion for reading and they've grown to love the program. If you live in LA and haven't come to a reading club, I REALLY encourage you to come out and join us - but that's another email.

We've enjoyed a lot of growth and expansion in 2007 - reaching out to three additional schools and increasing our volunteer base. But to keep our success going, we need your help. I'm asking you to make a donation to Reading to Kids - it doesn't matter if you can give $10 or $1,000 (or more - hey, I won't turn it down). What matters is raising as much as we can to help us continue to do what we do in the communities we serve.

You can send your check directly to me at home:

2525 28th street, Apt. #1
Santa Monica, CA 90405

But please MAKE YOUR CHECK OUT TO READING TO KIDS, not to me. For more information on Reading to Kids and what we do, visit our web site at www.readingtokids.org. Or you can shoot me any questions you might have,

Once again, and as always, THANK YOU for your time and support. Some of you have given each and every time I have asked, and believe me it is appreciated, and you hold a special place in my prayers. Thank you thank you thank you.

Regards,

Matthew
