World Lupus Day

Today is the first ever World Lupus Day. I have a former co-worker who was diagnosed with Lupus a little over a year ago, and still deals daily with the symptoms caused by this disease. Unlike many people with Lupus, she is still able to lead a full life, and for that she thankful. She is also grateful that she was able to be diagnosed early -- most people suffer for years without knowing they have this disease.

World Lupus Day focuses on awareness of the disease and the need for improved healthcare and research. If you are interested in finding out more information about this observance, please go to the following link: http://www.worldlupusday.org/
